What is a private pilot?

Once you acquire your private pilot certificate, you will be able to act as pilot in command (PIC) of an aircraft, and either fly solo or take passengers. You will not be able to fly for compensation or hire yet, but this is the first step to building a career, or even a great hobby!

What is required of me?

To obtain your private pilot certificate you will need to train for and pass a written test and your checkride, which includes an oral test and a practical flight test. I, as your instructor, will ensure you are prepared for those, and will provide the necessary endorsements.

How long will it take?

Most students take about 2 months to complete their private pilot training. It could take longer or shorter based on personal needs, weather, and aircraft maintenance
